Camera Placement is Everything

Give Viewers the Best Seat in the House

When COVID hit, and churches closed, the only way for folks to get to their church was by watching the live stream. But since most pastors are not experienced in video production technique, cameras where placed in the back of the church. The camera was turned on and locked down. No movement of nay kind, and webcasts became voyeuristic security camera experiences. Why? Because churches did not want to clutter their (empty) sanctuaries with ugly cameras! What if you put the camera in the best seat in the house?

The Security Camera View
The Front Row Seat View

“You can zoom in,” they cried, but zooming in flattens the image, and people become two-dimensional with telephoto lenses.

Whether your streaming church video or selling products on line, intimacy with the viewer is essential. And that can only happen if you are standing directly in front of another person. Move the camera closer to the subject! Please!
